Minecraft

Without installing anything

Add the address players type, like play.example.net. It’s on your page straight away.

servr asks the server the same question every Minecraft client asks before it shows the server list. That gives the player count, the version, the message of the day, and up to twelve names. Some servers hide the names; the count is still right.

servr.jar

Install it for everyone’s names and faster updates. One jar runs on Paper, Spigot, Purpur and Folia, and on Velocity, BungeeCord and Waterfall proxies, from Minecraft 1.8.8 to the newest release. It doesn’t depend on a particular version, so it keeps working when the game updates.

  1. Download servr.jar  into your server’s plugins folder and restart.
  2. In the server console, run servr link (or /servr link in game, as an admin).
  3. It gives you a link and a short code. Open the link, sign in, and pick which community the server is for.

That’s it. The server is linked and verified, and reporting within a few seconds. You don’t need to add it on the dashboard first, and there’s no token to copy. servr status in the console shows how reporting is going.

On a network, install it on the proxy only. The proxy counts the whole network and answers /servr itself, so a copy on the servers behind it would never hear a player hide.

Players who’d rather not be listed

Any player can run /servr hide to leave their name off your page, and /servr show to put it back. They’re still counted. To send only the count and no names at all, set show-players: false in plugins/servr/config.yml: that also leaves out which world everybody is in.

What it sends

Every report goes to app.servr.gg over HTTPS and contains: the player count and maximum, the names and UUIDs of players who haven’t hidden themselves, the worlds they’re in, who joined and left since the last report, the server software and version, ticks per second, and the message of the day. Nothing about chat, commands, inventories or IP addresses.

Linking again

Run servr link again: it replaces the old link. If you’d rather use a token, New token on the dashboard makes one (the old one stops working at once), and servr link <token> uses it.

servr.gg is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
