Getting startedAdd the bot

Add the bot

Only for a community with a Discord server. No Discord server? You don’t need the bot: start a community on the dashboard  and connect your servers.

Add servr to your server →

One Discord screen signs you in and asks which server, showing the four permissions below before anything happens. When you come back, your page is already live at a link of its own.

The bot needs four permissions. Each one buys something specific, and it will tell you when one is missing rather than failing quietly.

PermissionWhat stops working without it
View ChannelsEverything. It cannot see channels or voice at all.
Read Message HistoryAnnouncements never appear.
Manage ServerJoins cannot be traced to an invite, so analytics shows every arrival as “unknown”.
Create InviteThe page has no Join button, and arrivals through the page cannot be told from arrivals through any other link.

Manage Server is the one people hesitate over. It is required because Discord only exposes invite use counts to applications that hold it, and comparing those counts is the only way to know which link somebody used.

Already added the bot?

If the bot got into your server some other way, run this in the server:

/setup

It replies with a link that already knows which server you mean. Sign in with Discord and the page goes live, at a link of its own. /publish on:false hides it again without disconnecting anything.

The claim happens on the site rather than in Discord because a name is the part of servr you pay for, and a plan belongs to an account. The bot only knows a server. See your page’s address.

Checking it worked

/status reports every Discord source and why it is in the state it is in. Connected game and voice servers are on the dashboard, under Where you play.

🟢 Announcements — working (#announcements) ⚪ Voice — nothing there yet (5 channels) 🟡 Rules — not set up · pick one with /channel 🔴 Join tracking — I cannot see it · check my permissions there
