The weekly digest

Every Monday morning the bot sends a short message: how many people opened your page, how many of them clicked Join, how many actually arrived, and how many of last fortnight’s arrivals are still here. It is for a page with a Discord server; a community without one doesn’t get a digest yet.

Each figure carries the week before it, because a number on its own is not information — 240 views is good or bad entirely depending on whether last week was 180 or 600.

Seeing one now

/digest

Shows this week’s, only to you. Useful on the day you set the page up, rather than waiting until Monday to find out what this looks like.

Where it goes

By default it is a DM. If somebody has signed in to the dashboard  for this server, it goes to them — that is the account the page belongs to. Otherwise it goes to the server’s owner, because that is the only person servr can be certain of.

To send it to a channel instead:

/digest to:channel channel:#staff

The bot checks it can post there before saving, so a digest cannot quietly fail every Monday in a channel it was never allowed into.

Back to a DM:

/digest to:dm

Stopping it

/digest to:off

That is also written at the bottom of every digest, so you never have to come here to find it. /digest to:dm starts them again.

When one does not arrive

Nothing happened. If your page had no visits, no join clicks and no arrivals across two weeks, no digest is sent. A weekly message saying nothing happened is the fastest way to be muted, and the silence is deliberate.

The DMs are closed. A bot can only message somebody it shares a server with, and only if that person accepts DMs from server members. If the digest is going to someone whose DMs are off, point it at a channel instead — that always works and everybody with access to the channel sees it.

The bot was down on Monday. It sends on Tuesday, or whenever it next comes back, as long as the week has not ended. It never sends two for one week, and it never catches up on weeks it missed entirely — the digest is about this week.

No page yet. There is nothing to report on until the server has an address.

What it does not contain

Nothing that is not already on your dashboard , and nothing about any individual member. The numbers are counts. See what cannot be known for why there is no more detail than this anywhere in servr.
